Method Of Preparation
Navratan Dal
1. Take a bowl and add the navratan dal kit along with water as required.
2. Soak the dal for 2 hours and then rinse it nicely.
3. In a pressure cooker, add the soaked-rinsed dal, few cups of water (400 ml) and some navratan dal spice mix.
4. Cook on a high flame till 9-10 whistles are done and for about 3-4 whistles on a slow flame.
5. Once this is done, take a bowl, add remaining of the navratan dal spice mix, water (150 ml) and mix it with a spoon to make a paste.
6. Now take a kadhai, add some ghee to it, cumin seeds and let it crackle.
7. Then add the bowl full of cooked dal and mix so that it has no lumps.
8. Add the paste made into the kadhai and mix it nicely.
9. Cook the dal for about 20-25 minutes on a low flame and let it simmer.
10. According to the consistency, pour in water as required along with salt to taste.
11. Pour some lemon juice as finishing and Garnish with coriander leaves.
Saffron Rice
1. Take a bowl, add saffron rice kit, water as required and soak for about 15 minutes.
2. Till then, in another bowl add saffron rice (sachet B), water as required and then mix till it doesn't dissolve.
3. In a kadhai, add some ghee, add the saffron rice (sachet A) and roast them for about a minute.
4. Put the soaked and rinsed saffron rice in the kadhai.
5. Stir it for about 2 minutes and pour water as required.
6. Wait till it starts to boil.
7. Cover the lid and simmer for about 10-12 minutes.
